When we moved into this house, this was the guest bathroom.
I’ll be honest, I knew this house was full of incredible bones. It just needed me to turn it into our style, our home.
I had so much fun learning to tile and turn this bathroom into an awesome space. This was the spaces before: (Photo from the listing of our house before we moved in.)
I am proud to present what our bathroom looks like now.
We choose to use penny tile and black grout. I won’t lie, the ceiling was going to stay white…and then I got black grout on it accidentally and we discovered the easiest thing to do was to paint it black as well. I was worried about how enclosed this space would feel with a dark ceiling. The ceiling in this bathroom is pretty high, so it didn’t make it feel closed in.
With a puppy at home, we typically keep doors to rooms closed when we aren’t in them. Since we have company over often, it was important to me that our guests know which door to choose when looking for the bathroom.
In turn, I added these restroom people to the door so that way guests would know which door to enter from our hall of doors. It’s turned into a wonderful conversation point as everyone seems to love them. (Those four doors are the laundry room, brocks bedroom, office, guest bath, and the game closet.)
Let’s be honest, what would my house be without quirky decor?
