Well, January and back to school meant COVID for our household. A COVID quarantine might have been a disappointing way to spend three weeks. Thankfully, we are now healthy! We survived our quarantine with cuddles, laughs, and a lot of fun crafts – such as these cool resin keychains!
Thankfully, for this project, you can get it shipped directly to your door via Amazon. Which was great…because we couldn’t leave the house!
Resin Keychain Steps:
Step 1: Have your helpers put glitter into the resin mold.
*Note – We may have used glitter but we have also used sprinkles, in the past. It is less messy and just as cute. You can click here to see how those turned out.*
Step 2: Mix the resin according to the directions on the bottle. (Ours required you to stir for four minutes.)
Step 3: Pour the mixed resin carefully into the keychain spots.
Step 4: If you have/purchased a heat gun, this is the time to use it. I used ours gently over the mold and I was able to instantly see the bubbles disappear. If you do NOT have a heat gun, you can use a toothpick to help pop the bubbles. After popping them you let it sit for around 24 hours to dry.
The kids had such a great time making these for their friends. I would highly suggest pouring the resin into the mold in the garage or on a patio to let it sit for 24 hours. The smell was pretty overwhelming, and they had to be moved.
