This art museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma that is unlike any other as it is housed in a 1920’s style Italian mansion, known to its owners as Villa Philbrook, on 23 acres of land.
This museum is a perfect example of past and present, showcasing stunning artwork and beautiful museum grounds for both children and adults alike.
I love going to the Philbrook no matter the time of year, but this was the first time I had the opportunity to take my parents who were visiting us from out of town. Maddox, my ten-year-old also came with and the piece right below this was her favorite.
How cool are these red blocks below? This art installation is so cool! If you stand on them they won’t stay red long!
The piece below was created by the artist Kehinde Wiley and is 100% my favorite painting in the whole place. Mr. Wiley is best known for his Portrait of Michelle and Barak Obama. You can read more about him here.
The button-making station was a huge hit for my kiddo. The amazing workers got her all setup and she was allowed to make a button to leave. I LOVED that she was choosing to focus her buttons theme on recycling. She turned in her artwork and was able to take a button with her.
The Grounds of Philbrook Museum of Art
After touring the inside, we made our way out and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. Normally, when walking around you will see flowers in every shape, size, and color, but they had yet to wake up this spring during our tour.
If you walk around the gardens you will see incredible sculptures and this little hidden gem, which is my favorite spot in the entire place.
